Miss Universe has recently concluded and the newly-crowned Miss Universe is a Filipina.
It was a long wait for the Philippines to take home the crown once again. The first victory came from Gloria Diaz in 1969 and the next one is Margie Moran in 1973.
After 42 years, a Filipina proved to the world that she deserves to win the crown.
Pia Wurtzbach was hailed as Miss Universe 2015 as she outdid 79 other candidates to get the crown.
Throughout the pageant, Pia Wurtzbach was able to display the attributes and characteristics of a true Filipina. She did not only convinced people that she has a stunning beauty and gorgeous body, she also showed her brilliance in answering during the Question and Answer portion.
The Filipinos claim that they are so proud of her for giving intelligent answers.
"Do you think the United States should have a military presence in the Philippines?" is one of the questions thrown at her.
She said, "I think that the United States and the Philippines have always had a good relationship with each other. We were colonized by the Americans and we have their culture in our traditions up to this day. I think that we're very welcoming with the Americans and I don't see any problem with that at all."
After she gave her statement about the question, a loud cheer from the crowd can be heard.
What distinguished her was her humility and personality which was reflected with her answer as to why she deserves to be the Miss Universe 2015. “I want to show the universe that I am confidently beautiful with a heart,” she said.
The 26-year-old beauty queen is proclaimed as the 64th Miss Universe last Sunday at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
