The Miss Universe 2015 pageant truly left an impact to everyone, especially when the epic fail announcement was made by the host Steve Harvey. After this terrible incident, a lot of memes about what happened can be found online.
And now, another video is circulating online, showing how Steve Harvey blames the teleprompter which led to the wrong announcement of the winner. He added that he was just following what the teleprompter has fed.
The seven-second video took place in the back stage after Harvey announced Miss Colombia as the winner instead of Miss Philippines.
This video was uploaded on the Miss Universe Snapchat channel. It shows a short video clip of Steve Harvey pointing to a cue card while talking to someone.
“The teleprompter said Miss Universe – Colombia,” the host said in the video.
After what had happened, Steve Harvey apologized to Miss Colombia, Miss Philippines and the viewers whom he disappointed.
The Miss Universe Organization also issued a statement about the incident and it can be noticed that they are not blaming anyone for what happened.
"The excitement of live TV was evident tonight on The Miss Universe stage with over 10 million live fan votes tabulated. Unfortunately, a live telecast means that human error can come into play. We witnessed that tonight when the wrong winner was initially announced. Our sincerest apologies to Miss Universe Colombia 2015, Ariadna Gutierrez-Arévalo, Miss Universe Philippines 2015, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, their families and fans." the Miss Universe Organization said.
