A viral story about a husband with his pregnant wife is circulating online. The man named Andrew Pelayo shared what they experienced in the UST Hospital.
Last February 19, Andrew rushed his wife to the UST Hospital because she was about to give birth to their child. They chose the hospital because it is where his wife had her check up ever since November 2015.
When they arrived at the hospital, his wife was asked to lay down while Dr. Ana Liezel Sahagun asked some questions. She was asked by the doctor if they have money to pay what they need to pay for the operation. However, the wife pointed her husband to answer the question because he was the only one who is working between them.
Dr. Sahagun went to Andrew and said that his wife needs to be brought to another hospital. He was also asked about how much money they have. Andrew claims that they P6,000. But according to the doctor, they will have to pay another P5,000 for other tests. Dr. Sahagun further stated that they should have prepared P20,000 because the UST Hospital is cash basis.
They were advised to go to Jose Reyes or East Avenue. Though Andrew doesn't want to go to another hospital, he was forced to because of the condition of his wife. Moreover, they were asked to sign a waiver by Dr. Sahagun. Andrew claims that he doesn't know what it contains but he signed it for his wife's sake.
When they arrived at the Jose Reyes, they were informed that the hospital doesn't have an incubator. As a result, they went back to UST Hospital and plead to the doctors to help them. However, they had no choice but to go to East Avenue. There, he learned that the baby was already dead and that his wife would have been dead too if they didn't arrive immediately.
