An arrest warrant has been issued to Kapamilya actress Neri Naig-Miranda and Star Magic road manager Danilyn Nunga over libel charges being filed to them by a certain Clarence Taguiam and friend Donna Marie Go last January 13.

According to an article of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Judge Ricky Jones Macabaya of the Regional Trial Court Branch 5 in Cebu City, directed the Quezon City Police Station or “any officer of the law” to arrest Miranda and Nunga and present them before him.

However, since the warrant was issued, both the actress and the manager have not voluntarily presented themselves to the court to post bail in the amount of P10,000 each.

The two accused also did not submit any counter-affidavit to the prosecutor’s office when the case was being investigated.

Neri and Danilyn were charged with violations of Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 after they posted on Instagram a photo of two individuals falsely portraying them as ‘bogus sellers of a camera.

In her post last April 30, the manager said she bought a GoPro Hero3 Action camera from Clarence Taguiam and friend Donna Marie Go but failed to get it even if she already paid P7,500.

The message was then reposted by Neri, wife of Parokya ni Edgar rock band vocalist Chito Miranda, without verifying whether the allegations was true or not. Therefore, the prosecutor's office indicated her as equally liable for the case.

The complainants on the other hand, has denied selling a camera to the manager.

Later that week, Neri and Danilyn removed the alleged “malicious” Instagram post upon the request of the complainant’s lawyer, however, the two did not issue a public apology or statement to clear the names of Taguiam and Go.

When the case was elevated to the court, defense lawyer Rex Tadena requested for a reinvestigation as his clients were not given due process but Judge Macabaya denied the request and instead issued an arrest warrant against the two accused.
