The major plot twist during the Miss Universe 2015 pageant is considered as the most awkward in the history of the pageant. They announced and crowned Miss Colombia as the winner, only to take it all back few minutes later.
Such embarrassment and humiliation Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez felt onstage. As a result, different memes about it are scattered online.
Moreover, the term 'Colombia-zoned' was coined because of the epic announcement. A netizen explained that the term simply implies, "when you think it’s you, but apparently it was just a mistake."
Even local celebrities such as Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro and Anne Curtis were following the trend.
They uploaded a video which gained more than 36, 000 likes and more than 6, 000 shares as of writing. It shows how Vhong Navarro gave Vice Ganda flowers, but after a few minutes it was really for Anne Curtis.
Netizens claimed that it was indeed hilarious.
As many sympathized with Miss Colombia, others claimed that it was really Pia Wurtzbach who got robbed. She wasn't able to enjoy the moment after she was crowned as the Miss Universe 2015. But what made Filipinos proud is the way Pia Wurtzbach handled the situation.
